  • Make a good first impression by dressing professionally 
  • Be Prepared - Research the company using their website to learn about the facility/practice  
  • Practice - your responses to typical interview questions and the length of your answers - shorter is better; it's best not to ramble 
  • Turn off your cell phone 

Phone Interview Tips 

  • Be sure you are in a good place to take a call - quiet and you have good cell reception 
  • Have your resume in front of you
  • No eating or gum chewing
  • Smile when you talk 
  • Listen and wait for the interviewer to finish ​

Skype / Video Interview Tips 

  • Be sure the spot you chosen looks good behind you which is what the interviewer will see
  • Get set up and ready 5-10 minutes before
  • Do a test  
  • Have your resume in front of you to reference 
  • Smile and make eye contact 
  • Be sure you look professional

In-Person Interview Tips 

  • Arrive 5-10 minutes early 
  • Be sure to have extra copies of your resume 
  • First impressions count - havea a firm handshake, be upbeat and confident
  • Maintain eye contact with the interviewer  
  • Listen to the question before answering and don't interrupt the interviewer 
  • Tell them what you know and give examples of your successes  - Sell yourself
  • Ask insightful questions

            Salary Negotiations Tips

How to negotiate the best offer and salary for your next job? 

 

  • Have a clear idea of what's important to you - salary, benefits, time off, retirement, etc. 
  • Know what your worth - do research to be sure. 
  • Have a reasonable number in mind. 
  • Be prepared and practice. 
  • Remember - You don't have to take the first offer. 
  • When an offer is made, review the details with them. Say thank you and that you will get back to them.
  • Ask - if this is the base salary and if there is a bonus. If so find out the terms. 
  • Be confident (not arrogant).
  • If you want to counter - have researched points - # years of experience, salary survey, your current package, etc.  Remember what's important to you. 
  • Be flexible and creative - many instead of more money you can get more time off, etc. 
  • Employee benefits and other perks have plenty of value.
